Trends for Fall /Winter 2011

This fall .......fashion is rising to a new level.
Mixing, matching, and layering all sorts of colors, fabrics, and patterns is big this season. Very blocky and bold patterns in bright colors such as red, yellow, blue, green, and orange can be paired with stretchy or plastic-like fabrics to create a 70’s retro look. Or take the uber chic route with 90’s minimalist black’s and whites with pops of color here and there. Neutrals are always here to serve as our trusty accent colors as well. Another popular look that is overtaking the previously grunge or punk look of 2010 is the 60’s boho style. Pair neutral and earthy colors with chunky sweaters, knits, and floral or tapestry patterns. Details like an asymmetrical neckline, side sweep draping, large zippers, and slits are really transforming the season. The silhouette is still on it’s way to the top updated with the asymmetrical and other elaborate details.

Calf-length and ankle-length skirts have taken over for the super short minis. Popular styles are pleated, full umbrella shaped skirts, peasant skirts, and the high waisted pencil. Sick of wearing skirts? Wide leg jeans, tailored trousers, cropped and mod pants are always an option. Throw on a jumpsuit for a quick and easy, yet super sexy and chic look as well.

Mix and match the patterns and fabrics from your bottoms with your tops. Blouses are detailed with ruffles, bustiers paired with men’s styled tuxedo jackets, body suits, denim shirts, and of course the ever so flattering menswear inspired shirt is here to stay. Cardigans can be lengthy or cropped, chunky sweaters, faux fur vests, nautical stripes and other patterns are the up and coming fall must haves. Boyfriend jackets, leather or suede jackets, empire waists, and trench coats are sweeping the season away.

Suits are still in season with updates like a skinny mod pant or an a-line skirt as a bottom. White suits and the men’s tuxedo style is still appropriate. If you want to continue the suit look out of the office and onto the street shorts are the perfect way to pull it off.

Assymetrical, silhouetted, shirt dresses, and the drop waist dress are all must haves for fall 2011. Layer your dresses with sweaters, vests, coats, more patterns, textures, stockings, leg warmers, and boots. Mixing and matching these can create a great in the office look, or perfect for strutting the streets.

The Don’t forget to top your wardrobe off with bright, bold, chunky costume jewelry as a finishing touch. Geometric earrings, pendants, cufflinks, bangles, and sculpted necklines are all a great way to add that touch of jewelry. Handbags are framed, give an outfit pop with a solid bright color, and are handheld this season. Enamel hair accessories such as pins and clips or even double metal headbands are also great to add that pop. Hats such as fedoras, large brimmed, and snoods are all popular for fall.

90’s minimalist, 60’s vintage boho, and 70’s styles are all back for fall 2011. Mix and match these old times to get the best look for your fall wardrobe. Enjoy fall looking fabulous in a multitude of styles and designs. With all this mixing and matching it’s hard not to find something stylish, chic, elegant, and sexy for every woman.
